Started on 1 March 1980 through the adoption of the MASEAN Constitution in Jakarta, Indonesia, MASEAN seeks to build closer ties amongst the national medical associations in ASEAN. MASEAN aims to assist the ASEAN region in attaining the highest possible level of health, and realise the need for mutual cooperation and collective effort in maintaining the dignity and standards of the medical profession in ASEAN.
